Lyla Prather, a star stylist for Stella & Dot, partnered with Fashionista’s Market to host a jewelry trunk show Wednesday evening. Prather and 50 of her closest friends, clients, as well as other Hawaii-based stylists, gathered at the quaint Downtown boutique, to view Stella & Dot’s Spring 2012 collection fresh off the runway.
Iconic fashion journalist Paula Rath, one of my own personal mentors, as well as Miss Hawaii’s 2011 Outstanding Teen Briana Garrido, were two of Hawaii’s fashion notables in the crowd.
I was hesitant to walk into the store for two reasons. First, I was one of the youngest there, and second, because I was the only male in sight. What I quickly came to learn, however, is that Stella & Dot sees past all of that. The San Francisco-based company describes itself as a “social selling company,” making its jewelry and accessories available exclusively through in-home trunk shows by independent stylists and online. Whether you’re 20 or 60, male or female, your business grows at a rate of how successful and ambitious you are at your sales.
With our quickly growing fashion community, Hawaii may be the perfect hub to host such a business,
Here’s a look at some of the accessories that were on display:

Wonderful article Tyson! I love the jewelry pieces and especially the ones which to me, has a slight Asian influence. So happy you're moving forward and contributing to Hawaii's Social Fashion Scene!
