The Nonstop Honolulu crew spent Thursday night and early Friday capturing scenes of Black Friday madness at the major shopping targets around the island. You really have to check out these pics and video to know what went on…

Best Buy Aiea

The hardcore shoppers at Best Buy started camping out on 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, which means they spent their entire Thanksgiving waiting in a parking lot.

The comment Amy wrote about was true for it happen to me at Macys someone shouted out loud Sear have microwave at 20.00 off to first 20 people. So I went and found out all been had . That sport shopping trick to get ahead in deals. I got a designer shirt holding it walk around and lot shoppers follow me hoping I would put it down and buy something else instead. Wow it a tough and rough sport.

Support the United States Postal Service. Order online and let the USPS deliver your items. No parking hassles, no waiting in line, no need to "camp overnight". On the other hand the limited, special, exclusive deals will await the first in line.

Lucky we live in Hawaii. A few years ago I was up in Reno and the "campers" braved sub freezing temps to get in on the Black Friday deals. Even earlier this morning, the local news here in Napa Valley interviewed the brave souls who "camped" overnight in close to freezing temps just to be the first in the doors.

Hello Diane,
12 hours of shopping today. Had to come home after 6 hours to unload our packed car. Tomorrow is another day of shopping.

It like sports must a special tactic play in doing so in the mall. My friend have one that was "Sear have microwave sale at 20.00 for first 20 customers. That made customers rush to Sear from Macys making more space for us to shop. Oh yeah there no discount at Sear tricky.

nonstopmari you better buck up, missy. get out there and start blowing off some pent up consumer demand. we've got a bankrupt and fatally flawed economic way of life to resuscitate. you ain't one of them communists are you? oh i forgot, there aren't any left anymore.

nonstopmari in all honesty, it was actually very invigorating. I never go out on Black Friday, and yet here I was covering it from the inside out. There was kind of a rush about it, being a part of it and yet removed from it.

lol seeing all that really makes me wonder why... Most deals are not that great, and if you keep your eyes open during the year you can find many of the same, or even better, deals.

I specially don't understand some of those lines that also have online stores, such as the Best Buy one. Best Buy, for example, had everything available online and many things had free shipping.. I kind of wonder if there's not something else that's driving them, such as the fun and excitement of actually camping outside a store.

Oh well, I have to buy some things today (non-BF btw) but I am sooo not looking forward to go out right now :/

Wow that Walmart footage looks like they might need water cannons or tear gas handy. I can barely stand being in there on a regular day. That Toys-R-Us line was insane too, thought it was gonna end up snaking around by Forty Niner Restaurant. I think that Yakety Sax/Benny Hill thing should be be a preset in video editing programs, ha ha. Thanks for the great coverage!

808marv I know right? Just click a button and it speeds up the video and lays the Yakety Sax audio.

that was majorly intense. i'm still trembling. i see some KITV4 crew showed up to cover the madness too. but they get PAID, for now, anyway.

yakkity sax - that pretty much sums it up for me.
