It’s tomorrow, the first ever Moiliili Summer Festival, and believe me, it’ll be unlike anything you’ve seen before. First off, it’s bon dance meets a slice of Eat the Street, with a block of Coyne Street closed off for familiar vendors selling everything from tacos to desserts to high-end appetizers.

Then you throw in Moiliili Honganji’s annual lineup of barbecue sticks, waffle dogs, chili, andagi and shave ice, plus taiko performances, retail booths and an onsite furniture and accessories showroom thrown open for a sale, and that’s what I mean — unlike anything you’ve seen before.

You’ll need some details: Tonight, Friday night, it’s bon dance only, with Moiliili Honganji plus Aloha Pops and Kettle Corn selling snacks. Saturday afternoon the mega-fest begins, combining all of the above. Note the bon dance and street festival take place in the parking lot, so you’ll have to find parking elsewhere in the neighborhood. See below.
