Did this: Hawaii Wine & Food

All the food porn, plus more, that went down at Ko Olina last night

The tickets came in the mail on Wednesday. “A Celebration of Great Wines, Music, Food & Fashion,” they said. “Includes food, beverages, entertainment and Fashion Fusion Fashion Show by Hawaii designer Valerie Joseph.”

Cheehoo! An excuse to head out leeward, for the island’s other big wine and food fest. This is not the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival, the mammoth event that started last year and this September will bring nearly 60 top chefs from Hawaii, the United States and the world to Waikiki.

No. Happening this weekend at Ko Olina is what organizer Keola Lloyd describes as a destination event showcasing local culinary, fashion and musical talent in a drop-dead gorgeous oceanfront setting far, far away from the stresses of town. Who wouldn’t go?
