Another San Francisco adventure

A quick look at my first day in San Francisco

If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I’ve arrived in San Francisco for my annual trip to participate Bay to Breakers. Have you seen the craziness from this fun run? I say that I’m “participating” in the event because I don’t really run it — I’m too busy gawking and taking photos. Here are some shots from last year, which includes a link to indecent photos from the year before.

I got here ahead of the rest of the group, so I toodled around the Ferry Building Marketplace. Do you know that I’ve never eaten at Hog Island Oyster Co.? It’s usually really crowded because it’s so popular, but if you go on an off hour — as I just did — you can get in with no problem.

A view of the oyster bar.

My lunch, six Golden Point oysters for $15. So fresh!

Little gem salad with strawberries, Fuji apples, almonds, and ricotta salata.

After lunch, I just shopped at Union Square to work up an appetite for dinner at Frances. This was a dinner I had anticipated for a long time, since reservations are hard to come by.

I'd been trying to get in to Frances for a while now, but getting a reservation is almost impossible. I was told that you can't reserve a table more than three months in advance, so I set my alarm to contact them on March 17.

Whole Food on 4th St. is where I been heading to instead of restaurants for you pick what you want to be cook by chef there or the way you tell them for you.  Some Whole Food have escargots cook the you want.  I go for chilien fish which was awesome.  They do fresh oysters any way you want also and sit down to enjoy in their dining area.

Hope you visit the airport lounge of the airline you were flying.  Some airline lounges are great with buffet and all you eat snacks and drinks.  I flew China Air and had all you eat dim sum in Taipei on business class flight. Hawaiian Air also have lounge in San Francisco on first class and business class and club card holders too.

Melissa808 There no Hawaiian Air lounge in San Francisco yet only other locations like LA and Honolulu and neighbor islands.  All free with first and business class flight tickets and millage club card.  It still a good deal.

iPhone photo bomb there Melissa808 - ala rickyli99 . :) That bavette steak looked exquisite. I might go back for a conference in August; if I do, Frances will definitely be on my to-do list. As will GGB.
