HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support), a nonprofit that helps seriously-ill children and their families, held their annual fundraising gala last night at the Modern Honolulu. The sold-out event featured a silent auction with more than 100 items, including a car of choice from Servco Toyota. There was a live auction with deluxe travel and dinner packages, as well. Early tallies indicate they raised more than $200,000, which will fund HUGS programs that provide support to the children and families they serve.
The evening started with pupu from Tiki’s Grill and Pomaikai Ballrooms, then guests had a gourmet buffet and fine wines from the Modern. Entertainment was provided by Jon Yamasato and David Kamakahi. Here are a few scenes from the evening; to see more, click here.
