One last quick guide to Chinatown

The last of the Chinese New Year festivities starts today. Here’s a quick look at some fun things to eat, do, or buy

This weekend is your last chance to get Chinese food and New Year items from street vendors, this time concentrated at the Chinese Cultural Plaza. Earlier this week I gave you a list of Chinese New Year essentials; today, I’m just adding a few more miscellaneous things for you to see/do/eat to ring in the Year of the Dragon.

Chinese new year 2012

I can't say this enough, but every pake east of the Hunan will be in Chinatown this weekend. Tip: Park at Kukui Plaza — the entrance is across Pali Longs. You can park for a flat fee of $3, and avoid the Chinatown traffic.

The big Chinese New Year Festival is today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Chinese Cultural Plaza. Admission is free.

lion dance, dragon lady. i miss them both. esp dragon lady, whom i drive into a foaming rage with my illogical requests for a different color plastic bag for my fruit each day. "what i give you, i give you" "one bag same as another" "why you gotta be so crazy?"

Delicate Blossom: LOL..."No need, collects dust"! Planning to go tomorrow. Need them lucky underwear for upcoming Vegas trip. I always wondered why they have Lion dance when the Lion is not part of the Chinese Zodiac, or is it something else where the Lion is special.
