Kaanapali Fresh was created to help people discover the many products that Maui’s farmers have to offer (and the chefs who create with them). When you talk about “farm to table,” Maui’s chefs really put their money where their mouths are — and your mouth, as well. (Also, if you’ve ever read any of my other Maui blogs, you know that they don’t just grow delicious produce, the grow really hot farmers, as well.)
There are farmer’s markets every week on Maui, but the one at Whalers Village is only quarterly. We were lucky to catch this one in conjunction with Kaanapali Fresh and see some of our favorite, ag-tastic people.
I was supposed to have an IRL video with Manu Akana of Ho’opono Farms, but the file got corrupted. Too bad, because he showed off his gigantic cucumber on camera. Oh, well, next time!
Disclosure: This trip was provided by the Kaanapali Beach Resort Association.
