Hawaii: In Real Life ~ Simply Organized

Simply Organized has opened in Kahala Mall, so before we went crazy, we checked in with professional organizer Nancy Nino for tips

Simply Organized (@SimplyOrganize, no “d”) recently opened at Kahala Mall, much to the delight of townies who love (or need) to clean, but weren’t too keen on driving out to Kapolei to shop for cool organization products.

As my OCD friends, Muriel Taira and Jennifer Lieu (@Jlieu) can tell you, I need to organize. Constantly. My piles of paperwork and pure crap grow like weeds, and little items get lost in the process. A store like Simply Organized would help, but I’m the type to go crazy buying a lot of stuff there that (maybe) I don’t need. What to do?

Luckily, I recently met professional organizer Nancy Nino (@NancyOrganizes) of Aloha Organizers (@AlohaOrganizers), who assured me that getting my life together doesn’t take a lot of effort, if I develop the right mindset. She demonstrated a bit of this with a “junk drawer” to show me how to systematically sort, purge, assign homes to items, and then containerize.

We then went to another part of the store to look at some of Nancy’s favorite organizing products and talk about how they can be used. Visit HawaiiIRL.com to see more. After these video segments, I did shop for organizing containers and was able to find items that fit my lifestyle. Now, we’ll see if I can really contain my mess!

You are not disorganized, you are Chinee.  I'm not sure how @jlieu came to be OCD, it must the effects of her un-chinese-arian diet.  Now you have the tools to organize the accumulation of all those free napkins, pens, condiments and promotional swag!

Nancy is preaching to the choir here. i'm a compulsive organizer, purger and constant refiner of my belongings. i love the SO store in Kapolei and consider it my meditative space. all of my Oahu stuff lives in an air conditioned storage unit in Kapolei, sorted labled and stacked in stacking containers. when i hit town i just grab and go. it has been my experience that many women are not well organized, and the hotter they are, the more disorganized they are. and since i like organization as much as i like hot women, you can see my dilemma.

Delicate Blossom:  It is a "neat" store. I did pick up something for the shower which replaces the string I used!  Can you picture a shower that needed a string?!  The only thing with some of the plastic products is that they don't last long and get brittle over time.  I guess that is known as planned obsolescence.

Annoddah_Dave hmmmm I wonder if it's the water? My shower curtains seem to last forever. I do replace them as they get dirty, more than I can keep up with.
