Hawaii: In Real Life ~ Eat The Street

A quirky look at some of the people and the food behind the trucks at Eat The Street

By Melissa Chang on December 19, 2011

Whether you’ve been to Eat The Street or not this year, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce you to some of the people and food behind the trucks. I wandered the food truck rally on Friday to say hello to some of them before it got too busy … and before I got too full.

If you aren’t already, follow them on Twitter to keep track of where they are each day and find out about their specials. Not sure who to follow? Follow Poni Askew (@StreetGrindz), who pulls these events together month after month, as she re-tweets the trucks throughout the week and can tell you what they’re all about.

Here’s a quirky look at some of the trucks you’ll see at most Eat The Street events. Oh, and a bonus interview with Mari Taketa. (I’m so dead.)

Want to see more trucks? Visit HawaiiIRL.com to see another video with more trucks, more eaters, and some close ups of the food! And we’ll see you at next month’s Eat The Street!

I was there. @maritaketa was wandering aimlessly. Then said she was too busy to talk to Melissa808 and left.
