Hawaii: In Real Life ~ 11:11 with Alice Inoue

What is 11:11 about? Astrologer and life guide Alice Inoue explains, and has an event on 11/11 to tell you what it means for you

Alice Inoue doing my astrological chart on my birthday

Have you ever been “stalked” by numbers? I know my friend Nathan Kam has been saying for years that the number 337 appears for him everywhere, and he’s still trying to figure out its significance.

I got curious about this because I see people tweet and Facebook “11:11″ at 11:11 every day. I don’t think the numbers are stalking me (or them), but they seem to hold great meaning for a lot of people.

If you Google 11:11, there are a  lot of different explanations for the phenomenon. Turns out, millions of people around the world feel that the number or time prompt 11:11 is not just stalking them, but is a symbol of positive energy flow, spirituality, and/or the time of spirit guardians.

On the flip side, the Mayans believe that the world will end on December 21, 2012 … at 11:11.

With 11/11/11 coming up, I wondered, is there something I need to know or do? The numbers don’t stalk me, but they can’t be avoided because of all the people who are into it. I went to see Alice Inoue (@AliceInoue) to get an astrological reading, then to get more insight into the numbers. She has an event on 11/11 at the Ala Moana Hotel to talk about all of these theories, current astrological cycles, the “end of the world as we know it,” life purpose, how this all helps you live your life positively, and more.

If you want to attend Alice’s event on 11/11, click here for more information.

We also hung out with her to find out more about what she’s been doing as a life guide, astrologer, feng shui expert, author, and ordained minister. Phew! That’s a lot of hats for one person. Check out our interview at HawaiiIRL.com.

numbers and maths are the underlying structure of, and a shorthand primer to, all that exists, in this or any other universe. patterns and repetitions of patterns, from micro to macro and across all systems are the bricks and mortar.

in his 1972 book,’The Roots Of Coincidence’, Arthur Koestler discussed the real world workings of things we think of as ‘paranormal’ or ‘spiritual’. in 2002, Lawrence Krauss delivered his lecture ‘A Universe From Nothing’. it’s conclusion, reached by western scientific method, joins up with eastern metaphysical thinking about the ‘field of infinite potentiality’

there’s a lot of surface skimming of the subject matter that serious and disciplined minds have spent their lifetimes studying. when you simmer chicken broth, you skim off the schmaltz. see, there’s an example of pattern repetition.

we can have fun with less rigorous speculation and magical thinking, but we humans have got a job to do and childhood is over, so put away the toys.

My birthday is 11/11 and I was born 11 minutes after 11am. I always wonder if there is some meaning to those numbers. Who knows. My mom said I “came out” before my dad parked the car. When he came in to check on my mom they told him he was the father of a baby boy. He couldn’t believe it!

@jaydee whoa!! OK, that’s pretty crazy. especially considering all the symbolism of 11, 11/11, 1111, etc. But it sounds like other than your birthdate & time, you don’t feel more significance to the numbers as they come up? I think that’s pretty cool.

I’ve been in love (if one could call it that) of 11:11 for over 25 years. It all started when I worked on the floor of the New York Stock exchange trading securities. The clock I used to see from our trading booth was digital and the pureness of seeing 11:11:11 was magical even in the controlled chaos of the trading floor. An even more pure series of numerical time was 3:33:33 which on the trading floor was called “Five 3′s”. This always signified that there were just under a half hour left in the trading day and quitting time was close.  A more significant time of day for sure but not quite as magical as
“Five 11′s” or just simply 11:11.

@naugusta Wow! That’s quite amazing. Also, do you know that in feng shui, 3 (or multiples of 3) are good signs? 3 is a binding number. Thanks for sharing!
