Opening Day at the Whole Ox Deli (1 of 13)

Opening Day at the Whole Ox Deli

Whole Ox Deli opened yesterday, with a steady flow of people from 7 a.m. Honolulu foodies were excited to try the wares of Bob McGee, who is making this the only deli with local meats, procuring his products from local farms and ranchers. He's partnered with Vertical Junkies and the men behind Prima — Lindsey Ozawa and Alejandro Aker Briceno.

Mmmmmmm looks tasty!  Was thinking of heading down there today with the work peeps, but after reading your write-up, we may give it a week or two...

NadineLagaso I'm pretty sure today will be different! Also go at an off time, like 10-11 am. I think one guy said he left at 11:15, and that's when the crowd started piling up.

I was there at about 11:45am and only had to wait less than 10 minutes to order, then about another 10 to get the food. I was actually in and out of there in about an hour total, and that's with conversatoin and no rush.

MyongChoi Kinda like rush hour traffic! Time it just right to get into the riiiight window and it's fast!

looks like this is a place with staying power!  i've seen so many restaurants come and go at that location over the years... it's been kinda sad!  the food looks great and i can't wait to try it!

Delicate Blossom:  Wasn't this a Thai restaurant before?  I wonder if the location is okay since parking can be a challenge.  No word on pricing, so I presume it is on par with this type of fare (faire?).  Isn't life wonderful, here I thought you were trekking in AK only find you in Kakaako!

Annoddah_Dave ah! Try look photo #4, it is kind of in the $9-13 range. And yes! It was a Thai restaurant before.

I was in Alaska last week but couldn't blog then because of limited internet access.
