We braved opening day crowds to check out Kakaako’s latest eatery
It was a mad rush for the first day, but no one seemed to leave unsatisfied. Best of all, Kakaako has a hip, new venue in its vibrant urban core.
Delicate Blossom: Wasn’t this a Thai restaurant before? I wonder if the location is okay since parking can be a challenge. No word on pricing, so I presume it is on par with this type of fare (faire?). Isn’t life wonderful, here I thought you were trekking in AK only find you in Kakaako!
@Annoddah_Dave ah! Try look photo #4, it is kind of in the $9-13 range. And yes! It was a Thai restaurant before.
I was in Alaska last week but couldn’t blog then because of limited internet access.
I can’t wait to try this place! I love how Kaka’ako is flourishing.
OMG that is so cool! You took a photo of Chef Mikey!! I love the chalkboard wall – so cute! The caprese salad looks YUM!
@kyleepuu We’re going for breakfast tomorrow at 10 if you can make it!
@jlieu Small world, eh? Big G is the guy that catered my mom’s service!
looks like this is a place with staying power! i’ve seen so many restaurants come and go at that location over the years… it’s been kinda sad! the food looks great and i can’t wait to try it!
@snow it just needed the right offerings/owners and good marketing!
Mmmmmmm looks tastey! Was thinking of heading down there today with the work peeps, but after reading your write-up, we may give it a week or so…

@Melissa808 Ah, I’ll have to wait til weekend to try, can’t wait to see your food and hear recommendations!
NICE!!! wish i cd have been there, but major props to all for bringing life to a quiet stretch of kakaako, huge props for supporting local ranchers and farmers. a deli of local meats… will be there as soon as i can.
@NadineLagaso I’m pretty sure today will be different! Also go at an off time, like 10-11 am. I think one guy said he left at 11:15, and that’s when the crowd started piling up.
@nonstopmari Everyone was there! It was so amazing.
I was there at about 11:45am and only had to wait less than 10 minutes to order, then about another 10 to get the food. I was actually in and out of there in about an hour total, and that’s with conversatoin and no rush.
@MyongChoi Kinda like rush hour traffic! Time it just right to get into the riiiight window and it’s fast!
