Dinner & dessert at Caesars Palace

We enjoyed an evening of decadence at Bradley Ogden and Max Brenner’s, two of Ed Morita’s favorite Vegas spots

Since Las Vegas is quite spread out and traffic can get hairy, it’s usually best to group the things you want to do in one spot each time you get out. In this case, Brooke, Ed, and I hung out at Caesars Palace and Caesars Forum to shop, gamble, and, of course, eat.

Ed Morita suggested Bradley Ogden, one of his favorite restaurants, since Ogden was a pioneer in the “farm to table” movement. When you look at my photos, you’ll see that the portions aren’t that large, and we only had two courses. Yet, when we walked out, we felt super stuffed. Even Ed admitted he was almost at his limit…but in the name of research for my blog, we pressed on to dessert.

As a pastry chef, Ed also took great interest in a shop called Max Brenner’s in Caesars Forum. They have a vast collection of designer and everyday chocolates as well as scientifically created vessels in which to optimally consume them. (I know, big words, eh? I made that up just now.) He got so into the products in the shop the first time we visited, that the salespeople remembered him and lavished him with an assortment of free samples. But, I digress. Traci Toguchi and her friend Jee Teo met us for dessert. Here’s what we ate, and if we get the chance, we would eat all of this again. In fact, if we have time, we may go to Max Brenner’s again as you’re reading this.

Today’s lucky Las Vegas numbers, suggested by Bruce Fisher: 23  56  91  30  22
Hey, if they don’t work for you, don’t blame me! They’re Bruce’s lucky numbers.

I haven't tried either place, but will now next time I'm in Vegas. You guys are my kind of eaters! Great choices - everything looked beautiful & I'm sure delicious, too.
edmorita I'm allergic to a'ama crab, but I'll eat some every time, just in case I'm not allergic anymore. I'm still allergic to it.

You just turned me into a blubberiing fool after seeing all that goodies LOL

Say ED, I can help you with the crab as you try to lose your sensitivity. That's what friends do. Eat more to break the allergy. If that won't work, I can finish the rest.

Ynaku no, I will force my body to not be allergic or die trying!

edmorita Ynaku *I* will finish the rest! LOL

LOL! Looks like you guys ate more dessert than dinner! Everything looks delish! Any chance you can purchase the Drink Me cup? Never visited either places, but it's definitely a must go the next time I get there! (if I ever do!)

edmorita 71 pts

CindySJ you can order the cups online, but going to the shop it way more fun!

CindySJ oh shucks, I would have bought a cup for you! I had room....Vacations Hawaii allows 2 bags up to 50 lbs. each and I only had about 60-70 pounds.

Oh Mah Gawd... A decadent dinner followed by a visit to a sinful Chocolatier. What more can you ask for. The fuud prom is almost on the verge of being illegal and immoral.

Got to love your style, effort, courage, and appetite to survive a epic journey to Las Vegas. My hats off to you, Ed, and the rest of the Honolulu and Las Vegas entourage that took this pilgrimage to Las Vegas for this gastronomic delight.

I'm pretty sure those cups don't have to say DRINK ME in order to make customers drink them, but it doesn't hurt, right?
And you've found my weakness. Pretty desserts. Gah!

Melissa808 268 pts

Sushi true! The DRINK ME is a reference to Alice In Wonderland as well. love the quirky!
