Did this: The Signature Chefs food festival

For the third year, tasty food and firemen were featured at this benefit event

Posted October 13, 2012 by Melissa Chang

Several hundred people gathered at the Kakaako fire station last night to enjoy the third annual Signature Chefs Food Festival, a fundraiser for the Honolulu Firefighters Foundation. This was the biggest event yet, with 16 food stations showcasing creations by the Honolulu Fire Department firefighters and some of the best Honolulu chefs from Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Tangö Contemporary Cafe, Chai’s Island Bistro, 12th Ave Grill, SALT, Roy’s, beachhouse at the moana, The Royal Hawaiian, Side Street Inn, Mariposa, JJ Bistro & French Pastry, Liliha Bakery, Sprinks!, Poke Stop, Culinary Institute of the Pacific, Aloha Learning Center, and Job Corps Hawaii. Paradise Beverages and Southern Wine & Spirits provided wine, beer, soft drinks and water, as well.

Mari Taketa and I sacrificed our Friday night to cover this event, which involved lots of food tasting, sampling Saint Vincent wine, and most importantly, finding a few attractive firefighters to photograph. We had such a rough time last night, really.

I love this article. Cool to have firemen around just in case you see smoke.. And when there’s smoke, there’s fire ! Backdraft time.. Hot (Hawaiian) nights indeed !!!

It’s great to have the cool restaurants for this festival. I wonder if there was a Hawaii version of a HFD (fire dept.) calendar for 2012 or 2013 for the guys or the ladies ?

@KevinSOshiro I actually didn’t see the calendar, but then again, I missed the whole silent auction!

you did so say ‘tasty firemen’, it could be argued. and you did it on purpose. “where’s the fire lady?” “in your eyes, officer, in your eyes”
