Did this: Mangoes at the Moana

The fourth annual celebration of Hawaii’s favorite fruit returned to the Moana Surfrider, with more mango events than ever

Residents and visitors celebrated the peak of mango season at the Moana Surfrider's annual "Mangoes at the Moana." Makaha Mangoes was one of the big sponsors — and mango suppliers — so their logo was everywhere.

While the chef’s mango throwdown was a highlight of the day, the Mango Festival also features a recipe contest and a “best mango” contest in the morning. One showcases recipes submitted by amateur cooks; the other is a display of fruits from various Hawaii farmers and the public is invited to taste their wares. Celebrity judges determine the winners for both contests.

Let's not forget the dessert! Nobu's airy dessert of fresh mango & candied, cinnamon-sugar nuts would pair nicely with something sparkling & sweet. Harushika Tokimeki is the Sparkling sake that I would recommend. Not only is it bubbly and sweet, it also has hints of nuttiness which would enhance the whole dessert combination =)

The mango lamb sausage on a bun w/ mango mustard sounds interesting. I'm thinking the sweetness from the mango, savoriness of the lamb, and tangy mustard would match well w/ Kurosawa Junmai Kimoto. Kurosawa is smooth and balanced with a mild sweetness, gentle acidity and richness that feels creamy & round.
