The Hawaii Food & Wine Festival kicked off its second year with an Asian-themed gala at The Modern

Hundreds of foodies attended the first night of the Hawaii Food & Wine Festival on Thursday, tasting little plates served up by international celebrity chefs. “Enter The Modern Dragon” was held at The Modern, of course, with an Asian theme.

At $200 a head, attendees had the chance to meet renowned chefs like Ming Tsai, Masaharu Morimoto, Roy Choi, Charles Pham and more as they showcased their creations. Iron Chef Hiroyuki Sakai, “Man vs. Food” star Adam Richman, and “The Descendants” author Kaui Hart Hemmings were among the celebrity attendees.

Hey Melissa! I thought I checked out all the chefs' booths but didn't see Joanne Chang's! I missed out on Oreos and pavlova?!?!! Where was her booth located???

I haven't gone to a nightclub for a very long time. I went to this place, only once, with one of my college buddies back when it was called Oceans (or Oceans 808), before the Standard (and the recent name change to just "M"). Looks like a lot of fun !!! The last time I was here, there was a fundraiser for March of Dimes. I just wanted to checkout their happy hour from 4:30pm to 8pm. When I went there at that time, it was so crowded !!! Hopefully I can go there on a weekday and not the usual packed Friday or Saturday nightclub nights, just to see how it looks from the inside.
