The last thing I want to think about today is taxes.
I know the Internal Revenue Service has issued an extension, so technically taxes aren’t due until Monday.
Still, April 15 sends electric shock down my spine.
So I’ve decided, just for today, I’m going to talk about two of my favorite things: malassadas and vinha d’alhos — both from Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop in Kailua.
Here’s what we ate:
Agnes’ Portuguese Bake Shop, 46 Hoolai St. in Kailua. Hours: 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, closed Monday. Phone: (808) 262-5367.

As long as there's no BUSLOADS of tourists hitting the store, Agnes' will be a hit on the Windward side.
Arguably I still prefer Champion's Malasada's in town. I might just cross the Pali just to sample Agnes' again.
