Legendary British ska band The English Beat played many of their beloved hits to a full house at Republik Saturday, for the second headliner concert of Jet Setter Productions’ Cafe Blue Hawaii, a vintage scooter rally happening throughout the weekend. Local openers Sistah Roz and Black Square got the crowd warmed up, then frontman Dave Wakeling and his crew took over, treating fans to often more laid-back, improvisational renditions of favorites like “I Confess,” “Sooner or Later,” Mirror in the Bathroom,” “Ranking Full Stop” and more.

That must be Dave Wakeling’s favorite shirt.  He wore the exact same shirt like 2 years ago when English Beat performed at Pipeline.  Special Beat Service baby!
