The biggest slam poetry event of the year went off on Thursday evening, with the Grand Slam Finals at Fresh Cafe. The 12 best poets from the 2011-2012 season presented their strongest pieces in a three-round elimination match, with the winners going on to represent Hawaii in the national Slams.
Featured special guests this month were Joaquin Zihuatanejo and Natasha Carrizosa, both poetry superstars who have performed all over the world.
