DJ Shadow, perhaps best known for his work with experimental hip-hop and creative sampling, played a set to a room crowded with fans (many of whom were musicians and DJs) on Friday night at The Republik. Rather than play the music he’s known for, however, he announced that he would be playing mostly new music, and his set ranged from new cutting-edge bass, glitch and electronica to hip-hop and rap.
