Residents across the islands united Wednesday night to raise funds for Molokai’s and Lanai’s high school athletic programs

Residents across the islands united Wednesday night to raise funds for Molokai’s and Lanai’s high school athletic programs at the Cheers for Champions block party behind Murphy’s. The sold-out event included food stations with ono treats from Molokai and Lanai: Venison, dried squid, poi, smoked beef, sweet bread and kulolo, with cocktails provided by Murphy’s and pupu from Hukilau. The entertainment lineup featured Jerry Santos, Kapena de Lima and Brother Noland. In attendance: Athletic directors from Molokai, Lanai, Oahu and Maui, Mayor Kirk Caldwell, Gov. Neil Abercrombie and other community movers & shakers.
