Chinatown has been a wealth of food and culture as Chinese New Year celebrations have begun to celebrate the imminent Year of the Dragon. Though the Lunar New Year isn’t until January 23, Saturday’s events included a parade of cultural organizations, pageant queens and other community members. Attendees were treated to lion dances, swirling dragons and candy gifts, as children threw poppers into the streets. The street stalls also featured a variety of sights, sounds and smells that were a delight to explore. Here are some of the things that caught my eye.
