A C-17 Globemaster III from the 535th Airlift Squadron returned from supporting Operation Tomodachi in Japan to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on Thursday night. Operation Tomodachi, meaning “Friendship,” is the US military’s ongoing humanitarian relief efforts in Japan. Previous missions have included transporting up to 50 tons of water and 7,000lbs of blankets, among other needed supplies.

A C-17 Globemaster III- it's such a cool plane. it really is the descendant of the ww2 workhorse DC3. our air force has the capability of doing as much to heal the world as it has to destroy it, and that goes overlooked too much of the time
