Cocktail week: Pint + Jigger cocktail dinner

Hawaii Cocktail Week festivities continued Tuesday evening with a cocktail pairing dinner at Pint + Jigger

Hawaii Cocktail Week festivities continued Tuesday evening with a cocktail pairing dinner at Pint + Jigger.

The sold-out dinner consisted of a sextet of diverse cocktails paired with some of the Makiki pub’s popular menu items. Here’s a look at the libations and food that brought everyone out.

The first course was a Scotch egg paired with a Sombra Mezcal Waikoko.

I've never been a fan of spicy cocktails. The spice just kills my palate and pretty much overpowers any subtle flavors in the cocktail. However, when paired with the Scotch eggs, the spicy cocktail acted as a shot of Tabasco on the rich soft egg yolk.
